Biggest NFL Arrests In The Offseason

It seems like the NFL has been going through some public relations issues in the last few years, as several prominent athletes have found themselves in trouble with the law. It is not fair to label the NFL as completely out of control, but certain guys are giving the league a bad look. With the NFL season about to get going for 2015, here is a look at guys who made headlines for all the wrong reasons during their time off.

Ray McDonald

The defensive end was released by the Chicago Bears after being arrested for suspicion of domestic violence and child endangerment at the end of May. Just two days later, he violated a restraining order. The former Florida standout will no longer be trying to help make Chicago’s defense solid in week-long fantasy football leagues, as he was charged with a felony for false imprisonment.

Brandon Spikes

The New England Patriots won a Super Bowl last year, but not everyone is in a happy mood going into the new year. The celebration ended early for practice player Brandon Spikes, as he was cited for a hit-and-run crash in mid-June. The Patriots cut him, and after pleading guilty, the linebacker will serve one year on probation.

Justin Cox

Currently, Cox holds the distinction as being the latest NFL player arrested. He was promptly cut by Kansas City after aggravated domestic assault charges. The defense there should still be fine for people in week long fantasy football leagues, but they might be a little thin at safety.
